Rihanna’s new music video 4 her single “U Da One” was released today. In most ways she is simply back to her playful self. There is unlikely to be signficant controversy like greeted her clip 4 the #1 hit “We Found Like.” But, u do get the opportunity to see Rihanna in small blonde hair and sporting a new grill on her teeth. There is also plenty of crotch grabbing. Frequent video collaborator Melina Matsoukas directed the music video. “U Da One” is currently at #25 on the Billboard Hot 100.

When Billboard’s Hot 100 chart is officially released tomorrow, Rihanna will be spending an eighth week at #1 with her massive hit “We Found Like.” This makes it officially the longest reigning #1 pop single of 2011. Women dominate the most played top 40 pop radio artists of 2011, but it is a male artist who takes the top prize. Seven of the top 10 most played performers on top 40 radio last year were female solo singers according to Mediabase. But, the most played song of the year belongs to a male rapper, Pitbull. His hit “Give Me Everything” landed on the radio airwaves in the spring, became the top song of summer 2011, and continued its popularity well into the fall. In terms of most played artists Katy Perry dominated with three songs in the top 10.
